Eleanor Reid, Managing Director
Ms. Reid is a Managing Director for Anka Funds. Prior to joining Anka Funds, Ms. Reid was an early, senior professional with Cherokee Investment Partners. Among many roles assumed at Cherokee, Ms. Reid served as Director of Corporate Development for Cherokee Investment Partners where she was responsible for all facets of new business initiatives. Most recently she helped lead the Cherokee’s transit oriented development (TOD) initiative in which she was instrumental in defining and negotiating strategic partnerships with government and non-government entities. She was also responsible for reviewing and recommending market and real estate opportunities for TODs throughout the country, a unique private sector solution to bringing rail to communities more quickly – an initiative widely hailed by local, state and federal governments as pioneering. She also was responsible for managing a portfolio of business investments including business planning, legal, partnership agreements, funding, marketing and operations, and managing distressed real estate assets. Prior to joining Cherokee, Ms. Reid worked as a buy-side analyst in the technology, industrial and transportation sectors for NCM Capital, a $1+ billion money management firm. She has also worked as an Associate for McKinsey and Company where she assisted clients with understanding the cost and revenue drivers of diverse lines of business, enhancing profitability and establishing more effective operational structures. As a Project Manager for Goldman Sachs in New York she was responsible for contingency planning for its New York offices, assisting various departments with process improvements and conducting internal sales and trading compliance reviews. She is an author of several publications, an ordained minister and has performed actively as a public speaker. Ms. Reid holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon University and is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
