Jeff Danford, Associate

Jeff Danford is an Associate of the Anka Funds.  Prior to joining Anka Funds, Mr. Danford co-founded a custom home building company as well as a log home supply and design firm in Western North Carolina.  During this time, Mr. Danford drew on his extensive experience in residential construction to serve as the Architectural Review Board Chairman of a local community and worked to implement sustainable development practices.  Prior to running the building and design companies, Mr. Danford was a trader at Sigma Capital Management, LLC, a subsidiary of SAC Capital Advisors, a hedge fund with $15 billion under management.  In this role, he was responsible for trading and supporting two long/short equity portfolios with combined capital of $250 million.  While working at Sigma Capital, Mr. Danford enjoyed trading off economic data and technical patterns.  Before working at Sigma Capital, Mr. Danford was a newscaster at Bluebull GmbH in Vienna, Austria where he reported U.S. and Eastern European financial news.  Mr. Danford received a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2002 where he is also presently enrolled in the M.B.A. Program.  Mr. Danford is a LEED Green Associate.
